Saints Kickoff!

If you are a Saints fan like we are, then today is a very exciting day for you!  It's the first game of the season for the Saints after winning the Super Bowl!  Oh, how I would love to celebrate right in the heart of New Orleans.  But since we can't, we can still show our Saints spirit wherever we are.  In fact, my hubby is so pumped about the game, he's sporting his Saints gear on the plane all the way to Las Vegas.  Yep, he's got the Who Dat pride!

I put together a few fun Saints things that can help you celebrate, too.

First up, a tutu.  My little princess will be sporting one of these next season!  Get your girly girl a tutu here.

I just love this necklace.  It's a great way to show your spirit!

As some of you may recall, I featured these fleur de lis chocolates last season.  They are made at a boutique in New Orleans called Sucre.  You can order some here and have them sent right to your home.  We gave away several boxes as gifts.  You can't really tell from the picture, but they have tiny gold sparkles on them.  I think they are quite fabulous!

Nothing says 'Saints fan' like something personalized.  You can count on my mom to make anything pretty and personalized.  Find her here.

Are you doing anything special to celebrate?  I'd love for you to share!

Oh When the Saints Go Marching In!

The feeling is in the air and it is pretty awesome.  I love being from Louisiana.  We have so much culture and there is always a reason to party.  Everywhere you turn, people are decked out in Saints gear, from babies to pets, and every store is selling anything and everything Saints!  The best part is the delicious cajun food.  My husband made a huge pot of beef sauce piquant, one of his best dishes.  Yum!

These past few days have been such a blast getting ready for the game.  Although I am not throwing a party, we have several parties that we've been invited to and we will for sure have a great time.  Would have been so much fun to decorate for a party though!  I think if I had a little boy's birthday party coming up, it would for sure be the Saints theme.  How cute would that be?  Hmm...maybe for Gray's 2nd birthday party!

A few details you may be interested in:
  • The adorable boxers came from my mother at the Polkadot Giraffe.  She can monogram just about anything.
  • I found the cute fleur de lis Saints cookies from Terra Cotta, a local bakery.  Wish I could say I made them, but I didn't.
  • My husband ordered the fleur de lis chocolates from Taigan online.  This is a must-see website, so you should check it out.  We got several boxes that will make awesome gifts for the hostesses.
  • I also ordered the cd cases from Beau-coup, a website that has party favors for any and every occasion.  I use these cases all the time.  I even had them for our wedding.  Just add a cute label, and they make a perfect and easy favor.
For the cds, we chose some classics from all the great New Orleans musicians and put some of our fav songs on there as well from other local artists.  Here is the playlist:
  1. Welcome to New Orleans- Galactic
  2. Zydeco Who Dat- Rockin' Dopsie, Jr.
  3. Fever for the Bayou- Tab Benoit
  4. Dream Come Alive- Keith Frank
  5. Ay-te Te Fee- Clifton Chenier
  6. Hey Pocky Way- Neville Brothers
  7. They All Asked for You- Rockin' Dopsie, Jr.
  8. Golden Crown- Tab Benoit
  9. It Keeps Rainin'- Robert Plant
  10. Pet De Kat Krewe- Terrance Simien
  11. Zydeco Bushhog- Corey Ledet
  12. Blue Monday- Randy Newman
  13. Promise Me One Thing- Corey Ledet
  14. I'm Coming Home- Clifton Chenier
  15. When the Saints Go Marching In- Fats Domino
  16. Halftime- Ying Yang Twins
I hope you all have a wonderful time watching the Super Bowl and a great weekend.  I'll be back on Monday, hopefully with a smile on my face from the whoopin' we're gonna give the Colts!=)

My Crafty Mama

I know now where I get my love for crafts and projects from...my mother! She's been working on a lot of little projects lately and they are too cute not to show off. So, here they are. Her very first birthday banner and some adorable bag tags... not too shabby! And let's not forget she monograms, too! We will be planning a few more parties and showers coming up, so stay tuned. You haven't seen the last from this mother-daughter duo!

Lions, Tigers...Giraffes!

So, these days I'm crazy about all things animals, especially when it comes to Grayson.  I'm even planning Grayson's 1st birthday around circus animals (yes, I'm already planning his birthday and have been for a while!).  I know, I'm a bit obsessed!  But I can't help it.  I love to do things like that.  So anyway, I ordered a giraffe for Grayson's room a few days ago and it came in today!  It's the coolest!  Also, my mom came into town today and brought a few things she has been monogramming for Grayman, as she calls him.  Here is a towel she made that is just too cute!  We love you Bella and thanks again!

Well, I'm outta here.  After a great night of grilling with Clint and Michal, I must take it to the bed.  We have a big day tomorrow...headed to Breaux Bridge for a fabulous brunch.  Getting hungry just thinking about it!
