Today is a bittersweet day. It would be Ava's 2nd birthday. It's hard to believe it has been 2 years now since she was born. I can remember the day we found out we were expecting and I just knew it was going to be a girl! I planned everything around a girl, and everyone kept saying, "What if it's a boy??" But I knew it wasn't! And sure enough, God blessed us with a the most beautiful baby girl, Ava Claire Augustine on December 4, 2007.
God had other plans for us when he took her to Heaven just 6 weeks old. It's so hard to understand sometimes, but if it weren't for Ava, we wouldn't have precious Grayson. She brought so much joy to me and my family. Her birth brought us close, but her death brought us even closer. It's been a very rough couple of years and I think of her all the time. Little things can set off those emotions. I just wonder what she would look like or how she would act and things she might say. One day I will get to know her. Ava is in a far better place, but she is missed so much here. So I can't feel sad when I wish her a happy birthday because I know that it is indeed a happy one. I love you with all of my heart Ava.
Life can be so hard and we don't always understand but with God, friends and family we are able to cope. Love you! Mom
