Weekend at Nottoway

We are back home and settled in after a whirlwind weekend.  It was a blast from start to finish, even if we did lose an hour.  Thank you, daylight savings.

I had never been to Nottoway, so I was super excited to see it.
It did not disappoint.  The wedding was held here on the lawn, and it was a beautiful ceremony.

My southern gentleman.

Not a great pic, but here is the beautiful bride being escorted by her daddy.
The rest of the night went a little something like this.  A little photo booth action and lots of dancing.
Can you imagine how fun is it going to be for the bride and groom to go through all the photos?!

The next day was gorgeous.  Jamie found a perfect lounging spot.

We had a magnificent brunch with the wedding party, took a little stroll around the plantation, and then we were on our way.

I told all the single ladies that one of them better get married soon so we can do it all over again:)
A picture perfect weekend indeed.
Back to reality!

Weekly Round Up

Hello, Friday!  Glad to see you.
I am so excited for the weekend.  Tomorrow, the hubs and I are heading to Nottoway Plantation for a wedding.  One of my really good friends that I grew up with is tying the knot tomorrow under the beautiful oak trees of Nottoway.  It's sure to be a gorgeous wedding, but more than anything, I can't wait to see some very good friends...and really fun ones at that!

I dressed my coffee table up with these pretty coral tulips.
A little dose of Spring makes me oh-so-happy.

We had a wonderful time in Nola last weekend.
It was extremely cold and windy, but we didn't let that stop us.  We visited the aquarium, which was a huge hit with everyone.  We also ate lots of good food because, well...that's what you do when in New Orleans.

Jamie and I had the honor of dining at Restaurant Revolution.  John Folse was there that evening and I must say, he is one nice gentlemen.  And talented, too!  Our food was phenomenal.
We stayed at the Windsor Court, one of the nicest hotels I've ever been in.  I took lots of pictures with my big camera, but when the bellhop dropped it onto the cement, it hasn't worked since.  Bummer.

On a happier note, some bright, new nail polishes I can't wait to try.

I got to make a trip to the bookstore all by myself and I took full advantage.  I grabbed a few books that I've been wanting to get my hands on.
Don't judge.  I also picked up this one that I am particularly excited about.

Gotta run.  Got lots to do today.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend.  I'll be back with pics from the wedding, so stay tuned:)

Three Things

Three things I'm loving...

Ashlee's hair
Seriously, I still don't know why Sean let her go in the first place.  Ashlee was my favorite from the get go.  But on The Bachelor's "Women Tell All," she looked better than ever.  I am loving her hair color.  I get my hair done tomorrow and I'm hoping for it to look like this!

Ginger jars
My latest obsession are ginger jars.  I love the bold blue and white, and they are so traditional.

I found some pretty ones at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago for a great price point.  I bought one, and I love it so much, I think I'll be going back for more.  I feel a collection coming on;)

Neon and nude
Loving this color combo right now.
Yes, please!

I spotted these at Old Navy, and almost took them home.

That's it for today.  Yay, it's almost the weekend!

Recent Purchases

I made my first purchase from Bauble Bar.  What a statement necklace!  The Pink Ursula Collar necklace is now sold out, but you can get on a waiting list.  Mine hasn't come in yet, but I'm sure I'll adore it.

I always love picking up a few new lipsticks around spring each year.  It's a fun way to add a pop of color, and what girl doesn't like to play around with make-up?  Thanks to Mac.
                               {Pink Nouveau}                                                         {So Chaud}

'Pink Nouveau' is the perfect pinky-purple color.  It really wears well with anything.  You can't tell from the pic above, but 'So Chaud' is a gorgeous orangey-red.  Might be one of my favorites.  I've searched and searched for the perfect red, and this one looks great on all skin tones.
An oldly, but goody is 'Viva Glam Nicki' by Nicki Minaj.  Goes with everything!

I stopped in at Old Navy the other day, and was quite pleased with what I left with.
They had a great selection of sweaters, and I chose these two since I love the colors and polkadots.  I also picked up this striped dress that is perfect for everyday wear.  Not too shabby.

I've been contemplating on getting a Nate Berkus tortoise shell from Target for a while.  After seeing so many pretty inspirations {see here, here, and here}, I decided to go for it.  I not only ordered one, but three.  I plan on putting them above the tv on our mantel.  We will see how it goes, I'm pretty pumped about it!
I don't think the hubs is completely sold on the idea, but I think after he sees my vision, we will be on the same page...fingers crossed:)

Happy Wednesday!

Tray Chic

Today, I am rearranging my coffee table.  You may remember my Tilly Maison tray I got last year.  I love it so.  Today, she is getting a little makeover.

I love accessorizing with trays.  They can be used in any room of the house.  All you need to add is a candle, vase with flowers, a few books, and you have a pretty, chic centerpiece.

This modern, white tray looks good on a rustic table.  Love this combo!

Lucite trays never get old.  This preppy tray is a perfect accessory for this table.

I also love using trays in the bathroom to show off your pretty make-up and accessories.

This gorgeous ornate, mirrored tray is so classy.  I need one like this!

You can never have too many trays.  It's fun and easy to change them up.  I'm thinking some fresh tulips and my favorite coffee table books will do the trick.

Pop of Color

Hello, March!

Spring is in full swing around here.  The weather has been gorgeous and sunny lately.  I've got spring on my brain.

I'm a pretty neutral person when it comes to color, but lately I've found myself wanting to add color in my life.

All of these photos have that perfect pop of color that I think screams spring.
This has my dying for a sping soiree!

I adore this pretty neutral space with just the right amount of color.

Bright pink and white look so crisp together.

Emerald is a very popular color this spring.  I love this color paired with navy stripes...so classic!

Lastly, this makes me want to lounge by a pool sipping on one of these delicious-looking drinks.

I don't know about you, but I'm digging color right now.  Have a great weekend.  We are headed to New Orleans and I am pretty thrilled about it.  So, I'm signing off until next week!

XOXO

Monogrammed Canvas

I'm a southern girl through and through, and what southern girl doesn't like love a monogram?

I'm drawn to all things monogrammed.  So, when I first laid eyes on the wooden monograms, I knew I had to have one.  I just wasn't sure where I would put it.  Our front doors are french doors, so the thought of a monogram on each door might seemed a bit much.

I was totally inspired by these monograms...
{Pinterest}

Is this not the perfect solution to my monogram madness?  I bought my monogram from this etsy shop for only $18!  That's far less than I've seen a lot of places charge.

I just so happened to have a bare wall in our 1/2 bath, so I painted the monogram and canvas, and simply glued them together.  Just might be the easiest DIY ever, and I love the impact it has in this little space.  If I could go back and redo, I would have chosen a lighter shade of gray for the monogram, but at $18, it's not breaking the bank!

I was so pleased with the monogram, I ordered one for Sloan's nursery!  I will definitely keep you posted on that one:)
