Lately and Baby bump {20 weeks}

Is it really October already?  My goodness, September flew by.  I absolutely love this time of year.  Ok, who doesn't love the fall?  Pumpkins, leaves, fall scents, football, Halloween, beautiful colors, good food, football.  Did I forget to say football?  Not to mention the beautiful weather we've been having these past few weeks.  It's kind of sad when 90 degrees outside seems "cool" to us Louisianians.

We have been busy little bees here in the Augustine household.  Mostly getting ready for baby {no, she still has no name, but we're working on that one!}!  It is a very exciting time for us, so I'll just fill you in on a little bit of what we we've been up to lately...

::Big boy room.  Along with redoing our bedroom and the nursery, we have been in the process of turning Gray's nursery into a big boy room.  Although our house is very spacious, it is lacking in bedrooms.  We have two bedrooms downstairs {the master and the nursery}, and one upstairs.  We could really use another bedroom, but we're going to work with what we've got.  At least for the moment.  So, Grayson {2} and Alex {6} are going to share a room.  Since Grayson is not old enough to be going up and down the stairs, we decided to keep him downstairs in his current bedroom.  The problem: it's quite small for two roudy boys.  The upstairs would be ideal for the boys because it's much bigger and has an adjoining bathroom.  But like I said, we're going to work with what we've got.  Boys downstairs and baby girl upstairs.   Jamie was adament on getting the boys bunk beds.  I mean, what kids don't dream of having bunk beds?  But really?  With a two-year-old?  That's pretty much out of the question.  So, onto plan B.  A twin bed with a trundle.  Since the room is small anyway, we will start with one twin bed and can always get another later.  After much thought about which bed to pick, this is the one we chose.  I love it.  I think it's a perfect big boy bed because it will grow with the boys.  It has 3 settings and since I added the safety rails, I will feel a lot safer with Gray sleeping in it.  Now, if we can just get him transitioned from the crib!
::Days at the park.  As I mentioned earlier, we have had the most beautiful weather lately.  Perfect for taking strolls and playing in the park.  We just hop on the golf cart and drive to the park.  Grayson has become such a big boy, he goes up the steps and down the slide {which is no small task} all by himself.  Yes, we get scared.  And yes, we are both right there to catch him he if were to fall.  He loves it and it's so much fun watching him.  If it were up to Gray, he would go up and down a thousand times...we literally have to pull him away from the jungle gym.  We used to bring him here when he was just a tiny little thing, and now he's got us chasing after him.

This is where we are having Gray's birthday party.

::Garage sale.  We finally did it.  I can actually say we have cleaned out our garage.  We can now walk through our garage and it's such a wonderful feeling.  You all know I'm OCD, which means that I could never ever show you pictures of the garage before we cleaned it, which I would love to do.  Just to give you an idea of what it was like.  But that would be too embarassing.  With that said, we put together a garage sale in one day.  My awesome hubby and a few of his friends did all the manly labor and managed to make it happen.  We had a huge garage sale at my brother's house and it was a complete success.  I never knew how much work went into a garage sale...doesn't really help that I'm preggers.  My feet are swollen and I'm pooped with a capital P, but my garage is cleaned and we got some extra cash out of the deal.  Mission complete.  Man, I could do a whole post on the types of people you see at a garage sale.  Quite interesting.

::Our new bed.  It's been a slow process, but our bedroom is coming together beautifully.  We still have some things that have not come in yet, but here is what it looks like at this point.

It's big.  It's beutiful.  It's white.
::Baby bump.  I am now 20 weeks and growing.  It's funny how you carry boys and girls differently.  With Grayson, I was showing a lot sooner and a lot lower.  It's true what they say...you carry boys like a basketball.  This time, however, my belly has not been very big.  Until now.  It seemed to just sort of pop in the last week.  For a while, people were telling me I didn't even look pregnant, but I don't think they'll be saying that now.  I've been blessed with a wonderful, healthy pregnancy and we absolutely cannot wait to meet this little miracle.  I dream of the day we get to see her pretty little face.  It will be a glorious day.  She is loved so much already.

Whew!  I think that about covers it for now.  We have so much to look forward to for the remainder of the year.  Birthdays, rodeos, fairs, pumpkin patches, football, parties, trick-or-treating, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and much more.  Most of all, I love being with my family and spending holidays together under one roof.  It's such a special time of year.  Lots more posting to come!
Happy fall y'all!

  3. You look great Colleen! That baby bump is so cute! I was so much smaller with Cole than with Addie. I think my belly may become a weapon before I deliver! We just upgraded Cole's room too. We have a twin trundle. We were worried he wouldn't adjust but he loves it...the spiderman bedding is probably helping too!
