M.I.A.

I've been MIA lately...from my blog, anyway.  We've been super busy with family, birthdays, football games, and just living life.  I have taken a little break from blogging because I wanted to just enjoy some time with my family.  Like many of you probably do, I put too much stress on trying to blog frequently enough.  But at the end of the day, it's not my blog that's important.  I have so much to share with you, but it will come with time.  For now, I'm just soaking it all in before these precious times are gone.

April has been busy for us.  This month, Jamie and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on the 5th, Jamie turned 35, and we just celebrated Ronald's {Jamie's father} birthday last weekend.  Crazy thing is this month is not even over.  We still have Easter to look forward to and much, much more!

I want to share some of the photos from the surprise birthday party we held for Pawpaw Ronald.  For those of you who don't know cajun music, Steve Riley is the man.  We have the privelege of getting to see him perform at The Porch, our favorite local place.  So, we decided to invite family and friends to come together to celebrate and with crawfish, music, and birthday cake, of course.  Ronald was so surprised and beyond thrilled!  Seeing how much he enjoyed that night was priceless.

Surprise!

In keeping with the cajun muic theme, we had an accordion cake made to look just like Ronald's accordian that has been in the family for years.  Isn't it phenomenal?!

Notice the accoridion?

The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Family drove in from miles away to celebrate.

And of course, Steve Riley himself!

The highlight of the night.
Ronald playing with Steve.  He did a fabulous job!

There's a little iceing on the cake for you {no pun intended}.  I'll be back with more posts on baby girl, Easter, and lots more celebrations.  Good times!
