Baby girl shoes

As you know, little bit just turned 1 a few weeks ago.  She started staking steps a few weeks before her birthday, but now she is all over the place.  Sloan normally would pull her shoes off immediately after I put them on, but now that she is mobile, shoes are a must.  So, being the accessory-lover that I am, shoes are fun to buy...especially cute, tiny, baby ones.

Here are some of my favorite shoes that I am looking at for little Sloan.  And they are so cute, I will take them in my size, too.

Of course she will own a pink pair of Converse...every girl should.
She has these teeny little Sperrys.  Too cute.
I have been eyeing these Hunter's First Wellies for a while now, and apparently I am not the only one because they are on backorder.

Both of these flats are from Baby Gap and she would own them if her feet were big enough.
These sandals are available at Old Navy, and are just perfect for summer.

Let's not forget about baby Toms.  If I had my way, she would have these in every color.

These just might be my favorite at the moment.  Sloan wore these Mary Janes at her birthday party {details coming soon} and they made her whole outfit.  I am in love.  Gracious May has the most precious little shoes for baby girls and boys.  There is not one pair I don't like.

These are just a few of my favorite shoes for baby girl.  Now if she would just keep her headbands and hair clips in her hair!

One month

Look who is one month old today.  It's hard to believe.  I want her to stay this little forever!  I'm cherishing every single moment with her because before I know it, she'll be running around with the big kids.

So here she is...Little Miss One-month Old.

Isn't She Lovely?

I could just eat her up!

My girl

It's hard to believe baby Sloan is finally here.  I am so head over heels in love with her.  She has brought us so much joy to our family already.  How could you not love this sweet, precious little thing?

My precious baby girl,
The first time I saw your face was a moment I will never forget.  You were even more precious than I imagined.  You are perfect in every way.  My heart is so full.  You have fulfilled me in ways that I could not have ever imagined.  I can't thank you enough for that.  You are the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen and I cannot wait to watch you grow and change before my eyes.  I have so many hopes and dreams for you.  Mostly, I want you to know that you are loved no matter what.  You are surrounded by people who love you and that will never change.  So, thank you for being you.  You are special!
I love you past the sky!
Love, Mommy

Progress and baby nursery!

As I already mentioned, we made major progress this weekend.  Grayson's big boy bed was set up on Friday, and you know what that means!  The crib was finally moved into the nursery!  Which also means that I got to put together the baby bedding I've been waiting to see on the crib for months now.  It turned out beautiful.  Simply stunning.  I'm quite sure baby girl will agree.

Turns out, Grayson adjusted perfectly to his new bed.  Jamie and I were quite worried about making the big switch just days before the baby arrived, but he did surprising well.  In fact, he went straight to bed and only woke up once, but went right back to sleep when I got in the bed with him.  I'm one proud mommy!  It's a bittersweet feeling when your child moves into a regular bed.  As cliche as it sounds, it seems like yesterday we were bringing Grayson home from the hospital, and now we will be bringing his baby sister home in a matter of days.  Can someone please slow life down?

Back to the nursery.  I am posting a few pics of the stage its in now.  It's about 90% complete.  We are now waiting on a rug and a few other small touches.  But so far, I'm loving it and I hope you do, too.  I look forward to spending lots of time with Sloan in here.  So, without further ado, here is the nursery so far...

Details to come a little later!

Nursery Inspiration Board

Don't you just love inspiration boards?  Inspiration can come from literally anywhere.  So, when I found out I was having a girl, I was so excited to be able to create a room for her, but I didn't know where to start.  That's when I started looking for inspiration.

I'm more on the traditional side when it comes to nursery colors, so I knew I wanted to use a very soft, girly pink.  I also knew I wanted it to be feminine, but not cutesy.  I'm all about flowing every room in the house, even if it is your child's room.  Since our house is very neutral, a hot pink room just wouldn't do.

I was at a loss about what I wanted the room to look like until I saw this picture...

This nursery from D Home magazine is so heavenly, I couldn't stop looking at it.  It's so dreamy and just what I was looking for.  It's also not your typical baby nursery, which I love.  It's very sweet, soft, and a little glamorous.  Perfect for a baby girl.  I love the modern touches of the lighting, crib, and shag rug mixed with the more traditional touches like the silk fabrics, bows, and Venetian mirror.

Once I had my inspiration, the planning began.

Pinks, whites, a little bling, and other pretty, frilly, girly things.  I think it will be fit for my little princess.  What do you think?

Showered With Love

As you know,  this past weekend was a baby shower in honor of Baby Sloan.  It was wonderful.  Everything turned out so beautiful, and it was so nice to share this special time with some lovely ladies.  I decided to have the shower at a favorite place of ours in town called The Porch.  I have mentioned it before, but it's worth mentioning again.  The Porch is a quaint little coffee shop and restaurant that was just opened up about a year ago by some good friends of ours.  We go there a lot on Saturdays, when you can listen to live music in the morning with a little brunch.  That's my kind of way to start the weekenf off.  It was the perfect spot for the baby shower.  Remember my inspiration?

As I walked in, I was greeted with this lovely table.
How fabulous is this table?!

I just love all the Parisian accents.

I ordered the black and white damask Oreos and fleur de lis petit fours from the oh-so-talented Kim of Sweeties by Kim.  They were the perfect touch for the party.  C'est bon!

Amour.

My favorite part of the table are the black letters that spell out "bebe," which means baby in French.  Along with these, all the other black vases, cake pedastals, and Eiffel towers were purchased at Hobby Lobby.  They're a great buy because I'll definitely be using them again.

For the favors, each guest received one of these little black boxes filled with MM's in matching colors.

{me with the hostesses}

It was a perfect day.  Thank you to everyone involoved in making this a very special day for me and Sloan.  She is so loved already.  As someone who loves to be the hostess, it's nice to relax, feel pampered, and be spoiled for a day.  It's also a lot less stressful than doing all the work!  But don't you think I'm not planning the next party in my head...I'm already thinking about Sloan's 1st birthday!

Inspiration: Parisian Inspired Baby Shower

Let's talk parties!  One of my baby showers is this coming weekend, so I wanted to share the inspiration.  As someone who loves parties, I came up with the theme of my own shower {silly, I know}.  Who says the pregnant girl can't help with her own shower?  That's the fun part, after all.

First things first...the invitation.  I searched on Etsy for baby shower invitations.  It didn't take long to find "the one" when I came across this.

Gorgeous, right?  It was love at first sight.  So elegant, yet sweet and baby-like.  This is where the vision began.  I loved the pink and white with little touches of black.  And of course, the embellished chandelier is my favorite part!

So, with those colors chosen, I found some fabulous inspiration and went from there.  Luckily, the lovely ladies hosting the shower let me take part and help {not that it would not have been fabulous otherwise}.

This lovely color combination screams Paris to me.  Turns out, I'm not the only one.  I found lots of Parisian inspired showers that were stunning and got lots of great ideas from them.  The best thing about the Parisian theme is that you can make it into anything...a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower, and so on.  It can be fun for a sweet little girl or romantic for a bride-to-be.  See for yourself.

Simple.  Elegant.  Feminine.

I am in love with these photos.   Sources here and here.  I can't wait for the big day and I'll definitely be sharing the party and details with you soon.  Happy Wednesday!

Baby Bump {30 weeks} and 3D ultrasound

I have to do some baby talk because it has been way too long!  I am almost 31 weeks now, and things couldn't be better.  Baby girl is moving and kicking up a storm.  I love feeling her move.  It's one of my favorite things about pregnancy.  I will miss those little kicks in my belly.

We still have a few things to do before she arrives.  Number 1 on the list: finish the nursery.  I will share pictures with you very soon.  It's slowly been coming together, but it is going to be beautiful when it's complete.

I really can't get over how fast this pregnancy has gone.  In just 2 short months, we will meet this precious baby.  I'm too excited for words.  I promised myself that I would take lots of pictures of my belly this pregnancy, but it seems that I've been slacking due to all the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

Fortunately, we got to do the 3D ultrasound today.  We got some views of our baby girl.  Yes, she is still a girl.  Whew!  She wouldn't turn completely toward us, so they aren't the best ones.  We're going to redo it next time.  But for now, these will do.  She has lots of hair!  Makes me a happy mommy.

Thank you, technology, for letting us see our beautiful baby girl!

Pink on my mind

So, apparently...

I like pink.

And other pretty, frilly, girly things.

I actually never really thought of myself as a pink kind of gal.  But isn't it so sweet?

Lately and Baby bump {20 weeks}

Is it really October already?  My goodness, September flew by.  I absolutely love this time of year.  Ok, who doesn't love the fall?  Pumpkins, leaves, fall scents, football, Halloween, beautiful colors, good food, football.  Did I forget to say football?  Not to mention the beautiful weather we've been having these past few weeks.  It's kind of sad when 90 degrees outside seems "cool" to us Louisianians.

We have been busy little bees here in the Augustine household.  Mostly getting ready for baby {no, she still has no name, but we're working on that one!}!  It is a very exciting time for us, so I'll just fill you in on a little bit of what we we've been up to lately...

::Big boy room.  Along with redoing our bedroom and the nursery, we have been in the process of turning Gray's nursery into a big boy room.  Although our house is very spacious, it is lacking in bedrooms.  We have two bedrooms downstairs {the master and the nursery}, and one upstairs.  We could really use another bedroom, but we're going to work with what we've got.  At least for the moment.  So, Grayson {2} and Alex {6} are going to share a room.  Since Grayson is not old enough to be going up and down the stairs, we decided to keep him downstairs in his current bedroom.  The problem: it's quite small for two roudy boys.  The upstairs would be ideal for the boys because it's much bigger and has an adjoining bathroom.  But like I said, we're going to work with what we've got.  Boys downstairs and baby girl upstairs.   Jamie was adament on getting the boys bunk beds.  I mean, what kids don't dream of having bunk beds?  But really?  With a two-year-old?  That's pretty much out of the question.  So, onto plan B.  A twin bed with a trundle.  Since the room is small anyway, we will start with one twin bed and can always get another later.  After much thought about which bed to pick, this is the one we chose.  I love it.  I think it's a perfect big boy bed because it will grow with the boys.  It has 3 settings and since I added the safety rails, I will feel a lot safer with Gray sleeping in it.  Now, if we can just get him transitioned from the crib!
::Days at the park.  As I mentioned earlier, we have had the most beautiful weather lately.  Perfect for taking strolls and playing in the park.  We just hop on the golf cart and drive to the park.  Grayson has become such a big boy, he goes up the steps and down the slide {which is no small task} all by himself.  Yes, we get scared.  And yes, we are both right there to catch him he if were to fall.  He loves it and it's so much fun watching him.  If it were up to Gray, he would go up and down a thousand times...we literally have to pull him away from the jungle gym.  We used to bring him here when he was just a tiny little thing, and now he's got us chasing after him.

This is where we are having Gray's birthday party.

::Garage sale.  We finally did it.  I can actually say we have cleaned out our garage.  We can now walk through our garage and it's such a wonderful feeling.  You all know I'm OCD, which means that I could never ever show you pictures of the garage before we cleaned it, which I would love to do.  Just to give you an idea of what it was like.  But that would be too embarassing.  With that said, we put together a garage sale in one day.  My awesome hubby and a few of his friends did all the manly labor and managed to make it happen.  We had a huge garage sale at my brother's house and it was a complete success.  I never knew how much work went into a garage sale...doesn't really help that I'm preggers.  My feet are swollen and I'm pooped with a capital P, but my garage is cleaned and we got some extra cash out of the deal.  Mission complete.  Man, I could do a whole post on the types of people you see at a garage sale.  Quite interesting.

::Our new bed.  It's been a slow process, but our bedroom is coming together beautifully.  We still have some things that have not come in yet, but here is what it looks like at this point.

It's big.  It's beutiful.  It's white.
::Baby bump.  I am now 20 weeks and growing.  It's funny how you carry boys and girls differently.  With Grayson, I was showing a lot sooner and a lot lower.  It's true what they say...you carry boys like a basketball.  This time, however, my belly has not been very big.  Until now.  It seemed to just sort of pop in the last week.  For a while, people were telling me I didn't even look pregnant, but I don't think they'll be saying that now.  I've been blessed with a wonderful, healthy pregnancy and we absolutely cannot wait to meet this little miracle.  I dream of the day we get to see her pretty little face.  It will be a glorious day.  She is loved so much already.

Whew!  I think that about covers it for now.  We have so much to look forward to for the remainder of the year.  Birthdays, rodeos, fairs, pumpkin patches, football, parties, trick-or-treating, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and much more.  Most of all, I love being with my family and spending holidays together under one roof.  It's such a special time of year.  Lots more posting to come!
Happy fall y'all!
