Three Things

This past week has been quite busy with Valentine's Day, a playroom project, and Miss Sloan's 1st birthday {tomorrow!}.

Valentine's Day
Happy late one:)  Can you resist this little man?  I cannot.

Grayson's Valentine treats for his classmates made with special love by his Bella.  Don't tell, but they were the cutest of them all.

Playroom Progress
My sweet husband actually agreed to turning the "man room" into a playroom.  I am over-the-top excited since toys have been piling up in our living room for far too long.  We painted the room and the toys have found a new home.
Here is the before picture...
{a bit of a mess and a color not so pleasing to the eye}

and the after...
The color is Sidewalk Gray by Benjamin Moore.  Although calming, it actually turned out a bit more purplish than expected, but I still love it.  I am doing a "You are my sunshine" theme, using the colors gray, yellow and white.  Neutral, fun, modern, playful.  As you can see, there is a lot to be done.  Curtains, furniture, storage, etc.  It looks a bit cluttered in this picture, but it is a big improvement, an even bigger hit with Grayson, and we got our living room back.  I am so glad we completed the task this week since we are having a special party this weekend...a first birthday party!

Birthday Girl
Yes, this little cupcake will ONE tomorrow.  We will be celebrating this weekend with close friends and family.  No surprise,  I have been planning her birthday for months now.  I will tell you that is it going to be pretty, sweet, and feminine, just like little bit herself.
Isn't is she sweet?

I can't wait to fill you in on all the details!

Inspiration: Parisian Inspired Baby Shower

Let's talk parties!  One of my baby showers is this coming weekend, so I wanted to share the inspiration.  As someone who loves parties, I came up with the theme of my own shower {silly, I know}.  Who says the pregnant girl can't help with her own shower?  That's the fun part, after all.

First things first...the invitation.  I searched on Etsy for baby shower invitations.  It didn't take long to find "the one" when I came across this.

Gorgeous, right?  It was love at first sight.  So elegant, yet sweet and baby-like.  This is where the vision began.  I loved the pink and white with little touches of black.  And of course, the embellished chandelier is my favorite part!

So, with those colors chosen, I found some fabulous inspiration and went from there.  Luckily, the lovely ladies hosting the shower let me take part and help {not that it would not have been fabulous otherwise}.

This lovely color combination screams Paris to me.  Turns out, I'm not the only one.  I found lots of Parisian inspired showers that were stunning and got lots of great ideas from them.  The best thing about the Parisian theme is that you can make it into anything...a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower, and so on.  It can be fun for a sweet little girl or romantic for a bride-to-be.  See for yourself.

Simple.  Elegant.  Feminine.

I am in love with these photos.   Sources here and here.  I can't wait for the big day and I'll definitely be sharing the party and details with you soon.  Happy Wednesday!

Doggone Cuteness!

Calling all dogs!  Since Mr. Brees' 1st birthday is coming in just a few days, I thought a post about a doggy party would be right on track.  You all know I love parties.  Well, today I am so excited to feature a party that is not your everyday kind of party.

 I fell in love when I spotted this party at The Sweetest Occasion.  As a dog lover myself, I think it would be totally fun to celebrate a birthday for a little furry friend.  I am totally inspired!

What a cutie!

Each doggy got their own frisbee with their initial on it!

I especially love the chalk hearts.

Such great ideas.  Looks like these canines enjoyed their special day.
Go here to see the full feature and lots more eye candy.

Enjoy your weekend!

Halloween Fun {Part 1}

Switching gears from birthday to Halloween!  We've got lots of fun stuff going on this Halloween weekend, as I'm sure you do, too.  First up, the Courville-Augustine Halloween Party {adults only}!  So, as promised, here are a few pictures from the party.

We've been working all week on the party, and it finally paid off!  We had the idea to make 2 different areas, a Heaven room and a Hell room.  The results were spooktacular!

But first...my husband cracks me up.  He gets so into his costume, it's hilarious!  He was ready 2 hours early...he was worse than a girl.  But it was worth it...

Onto the party...
Heaven

Hell
Isn't this coffin to die for?!  It totally made the party!

The outside area where guests watched the band.

Yes, we even hired a band.  They are a.w.e.s.o.m.e.

Me {a dark angel} and Peewee {like you didn't know}

Jamie played up the character all night!

This guy won 1st place in the costume competition.  There were so many great ones to choose from!

It was an awesome night!  We had a huge turn out.  The band was awesome and the costumes were crazy fun!

I had trouble finding a costume with the big belly and all.  But I made it work!  Funny what a spray tan, false eyelashes, and some really high heels can do to a girl's confidence!  Everyone said I looked just like Heidi Klum {funny because I was actually wearing one of her dresses from the Pea in a Pod collection seen here}.  I'll take that as a huge complement.

Now, I can't wait to see my little man all dressed up in his costume!
Hint: it flys, it's black, and it ryhmes with cat!

All Aboard! Grayson's 2nd birthday party!

Hello friends!  I am finally getting around to sharing some pictures from this past weekend.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks with the party and Halloween being so close together.  Crazy, but fun!  Maybe next year I will combine the two and have a Halloween birthday party!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet!  First things first...the train party.  I think everything came together nicely, if I do say so myself!  I really love the pops of color, and I'm totally smitten with Tomkat's custom train design she did just for my little man...yes, he's worth it!  Here are a few of my favorite details.

The photo prop {and the two funny guys in conductor hats}

And my favorite detail of all...

Football-themed Birthday Bash

Sunday night, we attended a football-themed birthday party celebrating our friend/neighbor's birthday. Presley turned 5, and what better way to "kick off" his birthday than with a football party {a little football humor}?

The kids were asked to come wearing the jersey of their favorite football team.  So, of course, Gray rocked his Saints jersey.  When we arrived, all the kids were playing a game of flag football.  They were so cute!  Gray was the youngest child, so he wasn't much interested in playing.  He was, however, interested in the trampoline.  Give it another year, and I think Gray will be ruling the field!

This is the the view from back of their house.  Gorgeous.

Presley's mother did a fabulous job decorating for the party.  Every detail was so thought out.

How cute is the birthday boy?

We had so much fun celebrating Presley's birthday.  The party was a "score!"
