Inspiration: Lego Birthday Party

Wedding season may be approaching for some people, but for me, it's all about the parties!  I am so excited about this Spring and all the fun celebrations coming up.  Looks like I'll be busy planning an Easter egg hunt, the hubby's birthday, Alex's birthday, a graduation party for a very special graduate, and a wedding shower for one of my best friends!

Whew!  I'm exhausted just thinking about it.  I don't like to throw a party unless I put my all into it.  That's the perfectionist in me.  So, I'm hoping to pull together some special celebrations in a short time.  My creative wheels are spinning and I got a little inspired today.  There's just something about children's birthday parties that make me so giddy!  They are so fun to plan.  Especially when you can take one of their favorite hobbies or interests and turn it into a really fun shin dig.

With that said, Alex is turning 7 in May.  Although I have been totally focused on planning the Easter egg hunt, I've also started pulling some ideas together for his party.  If there's one thing you should know about Alex, it's that he loves legos.  I mean loves.  So, I thought it would be so much fun to have a party themed totally around legos.

I have so many ideas for this party and I can't wait to get started.

I especially love the lego cupcake toppers and lego men crayons.  Would these not make the perfect party favors?!

What do you think?

All Aboard! Grayson's 2nd birthday party!

Hello friends!  I am finally getting around to sharing some pictures from this past weekend.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks with the party and Halloween being so close together.  Crazy, but fun!  Maybe next year I will combine the two and have a Halloween birthday party!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet!  First things first...the train party.  I think everything came together nicely, if I do say so myself!  I really love the pops of color, and I'm totally smitten with Tomkat's custom train design she did just for my little man...yes, he's worth it!  Here are a few of my favorite details.

The dessert table

The Oreo pops

The cookies

The crown

The train

The photo prop {and the two funny guys in conductor hats}

The balloons

And my favorite detail of all...
The birthday boy!

That's my boy!  He had a blast and we had even more fun watching him.  It was such a beautiful day shared with close friends and family.  A big thanks to everyone who helped make it special!

A few party details:

Football-themed Birthday Bash

Sunday night, we attended a football-themed birthday party celebrating our friend/neighbor's birthday. Presley turned 5, and what better way to "kick off" his birthday than with a football party {a little football humor}?

The kids were asked to come wearing the jersey of their favorite football team.  So, of course, Gray rocked his Saints jersey.  When we arrived, all the kids were playing a game of flag football.  They were so cute!  Gray was the youngest child, so he wasn't much interested in playing.  He was, however, interested in the trampoline.  Give it another year, and I think Gray will be ruling the field!

This is the the view from back of their house.  Gorgeous.

Presley's mother did a fabulous job decorating for the party.  Every detail was so thought out.

How cute is the birthday boy?

We had so much fun celebrating Presley's birthday.  The party was a "score!"

Flashback Friday

Today, I want to flashback to Grayson's 1st birthday party.  I'm in party planning mode and have birthdays on the brain.  With Grayson's 2nd birthday getting near, I couldn't help but look back at all the fun details from his 1st birthday.

We had a big circus party to celebrate my little man turning one.  It was such a blast putting it all together.  I worked for literally months on it.  I knew I wanted to have a circus theme party when I saw Jess' adorable party goods from Polka Dots and Pirates.  Her details really made the party personal and unique.  Although Grayson will never remember that day, I will always hold it dear to my heart.

Here's to another year and another party {coming soon}!

Have an awesome weekend!

Inspiration: Grayson's 2nd Birthday Party

My little man will be turning 2 in a couple of months and that kind of makes me a little sad.  He's growing up!  So, I want to have an awesome birthday bash that he and his little friends will enjoy.  Since he's LOVING trains at the moment {more like obsessed with them}, we're going to have a train-themed party.  There's so many great ideas out there for children's parties.  Here are some ideas I'd like to incorporate into Gray's choo choo {as he calls them} party.  I can't wait to see his reaction!

How cute is this party that Tomkat featured on her blog today?!  I'm in love!

Swooning over this adorable table setting from Amy Atlas!

I like the modern touch of these giant balloons.  Fun!

Christi from P is for Party hosted this precious party for her son's 2nd birthday.  Children's tables and chairs?  Yes, please!

Got to have a sign on the birthday boy's chair.

I'm loving these colors.

I know my little prince will have a blast at his party, but I think I will have even more fun just watching him.  I'm even thinking a real choo choo train...if possible.  He would freak!  Stay tuned for more details!

Party inspiration: Superhero Party

We have a special birthday coming up!  How excited am I to plan another party?  Very!  Luckily, we have lots of birthdays in our family!  My stepson's 6th birthday is coming up in May and he is in L-O-V-E with all things superhero.  He has been into every superhero you can possibly think of.  So, how much fun it will be to have not one, but ALL the superheros in on the action?!

These printable cupcake toppers from Tomkat Studio, which can be used for just about anything, will be perfect for the theme.  I have a lot of cute ideas for this party, and I think he will be so impressed.  Alex is so funny about his birthday parties.  He starts talking about his next party as soon as his birthday is over, so I'm excited to throw him a big birthday bash!

Here is an inspiration board put together by the Birthday Girl.  Cute stuff!

A is for Aydon!

I finally have something to blog about again!  I hosted my very first baby shower this past weekend for a special friend of mine.  She's having a baby boy, Aydon Scott Lefevre.  I have been planning for months, even before I knew the sex of the baby!  She is decorating his nursery in a nautical theme, so this is where the inspiration came from.  I did a dessert table with a candy buffet, cupcakes, cake, and other goodies.  Then I had an entrance table for the guests to make a wish for Ashley and the baby.  I pretty much got all my supplies from the ole' faithful Michael's.  I think that's my favorite store...that's pretty bad when you get that excited about a craft store!!  But everyone enjoyed the shower and I had so much fun putting it all together.  I can't wait for my next project...actually, that would be Grayson's 1st birthday that I've been planning for months now! =)
