Hello 2010

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!  I've been dying to post, but have been busy getting back into the swing of things after being gone for a couple of weeks.  We had a fabulous vacation in Florida with the whole entire family.  It was filled with lots of love, laughter, and even tears.  It was such a wonderful time to see everybody since it's rare that we're all together.

Here's what we've been up to...

We got to do a lot of relaxing and sightseeing.  Of course, we went to Seaside and spent many of our days on the gorgeous beaches.  It's almost more beautiful this time of year than in the summer.  We saw Eric Lindell (whose music is playing), who we love, love, love and have been following for a while!  It was awesome to get to see him in person.  And of course we had to ring in the New Year!!  Terrance Simien, who we also love, just happened to be playing in Seaside for the New Year.  He's also a native of Louisiana so he kind of knows us from some of his other concerts we've seen.  For those of you who know, we love live music and Jamie always gets to know the band.  Then we made our own New Year's hats with all the little kiddos there.  Yep, only in Seaside.  And finally we began 2010 with a fireworks show right on the beach.  Just perfect.

I have to admit, I was a little hesitant at first to begin a new year since 2009 was so great to us.  We had nothing but happy times compared to 2008.  Everyone keeps saying that they can't wait to start a new year and that they hope it's better than the last.  I got to thinking and I don't think it can get any better.  But there are things I would love to accomplish this next year.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, I have so much to be blessed for.  Instead of being afraid of the new year ahead of us, I'm going to embrace it.

I have lots and lots of new things to blog about and I can't wait to share.  Notice I have a new name?  New year, new blog!  I'll share how the name came to be, along with lots of other stuff.

A few more pics from our holiday...
