Red fish, red face

My husband is on vacation for 3 weeks.  Yes, 3 weeks!  And not by choice.  He has until May to use up his vacation, which now has built up to a whole month.  What better time than now to take it?  He is all about fun and he has been dying to take me on a fishing trip for months now.  So, we booked a trip for yesterday.  We couldn't have asked for better weather.  It was quite windy to say the least, but with the sun shining down on us all day, it was perfect.

Until yesterday, I had not ever caught a fish; actually I had hardly ever even been fishing.  I don't think I was even prepared for what was to come.  We set out on Big Lake with our fishing guide Anthony (who, by the way, has got to be the coolest guide ever!) around 8:00 in the morning.  He drove us out about 20 minutes and finally, we stopped to fish.  I have to admit that I wasn't all that excited about catching fish.  I just wanted to be out on a boat.  That is, until I caught the first fish.  Then I understood what all the fuss was about.

We stayed out on the lake all day.  Between Jamie and I, we caught about 11 redfish, keeping 9 of them.  Oh and about the red face, I totally got sunburned.  But only on my hands and face.  I look pretty goofy, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.  It was a great day and we had lots of fun...even if  I did catch more fish than Jamie;)  Beginners luck maybe?

This turned into...

...this. What a fabulous dinner this made.   The fact that we caught this fish made it all the more better!
