Recent Happenings

Hello, friends.  Pardon my absence!  These past few weeks have been hectic and we have been on the go, go, go!

The week before last, my husband surprised me with a night in Lafayette sans kids!  We stayed at the Buchanan Lofts and dined at Cochon, a fabulous restaurant I highly recommend if you are in the area.

{view from the top of our loft...we had this whole place to ourselves!}

{good food and even better drinks}

  It was a lovely little trip, but we were ready to get back to the kiddos.  As soon as we got home, we were off to my parents' to celebrate my grandmother's 87th birthday!  I love her!

Doesn't she still look fabulous?!

My mom decorated everything so nicely for the party.

The next morning we headed to north Louisiana to visit some good friends of ours.

Oh, and did I mention that we "dog-sat" for a friend of mine, also?
How precious is she?  Grayson fell head over heals in love with her and was such a big helper taking care of Daisy.

My Tilly Maison tray came in and I couldn't love it more.
I found the gold owl from Hobby Lobby and I stole the coasters from Cochon:)

In keeping it real, I took this picture after leaving the house for a few errands, only to come back to this.  This is the current state of the playroom most days:)

After much thought, I finally bit the bullet and had Sloan's hair cut for the first time.  Although I loved her little curls in the back, they just had to go.  I cut it in hopes that it will grow faster and more evenly now.  Bye-bye mullet!

She did exceptionally well for her first time.

And here is the after.  Her first little pixie cut:)

Lastly, we finished the weekend off with a little homemade ice cream.  Nothing better than homemade ice cream, especially in this extremely hot weather!

I am so looking forward to a low key week.

Hope your Monday is off to a fabulous start!
