Home Sweet Home

I hope you all had a safe and happy 4th!  After being gone for over a week, we have finally made it home!  I am usually a little sad leaving a vacay, but this time is different.  I am so glad to be home and get things back to normal.

I cleaned the house and unpacked, and the kids are enjoying being back in their routines...and back to their toys.  In fact, as I am typing, I am in hand cuffs as Gray is Mr. Policeman this morning.  Note to self: make sure you know where the key is when you agree to be hand cuffed!

That being said, we had a wonderful time in Florida with the family.  I can't say going on vacation with the kids is relaxing, but it sure is a world of fun.  I think this about sums it up...

We can all relate:)

The weather was beautiful for most of the week, with the exception of the last few days.  We almost didn't take our family photo because it had stormed all night, but my dad insisted that we take one and I'm so happy he did {even if he didn't follow instructions on our choice of colors!}.  Though we didn't take it on the beach as planned, I'm pleased with it.

This was the view from our back porch.

I bought all the girls sun hats and had them monogrammed.  Every southern girl must have one!

Our house was in Laurel Grove in Sandestin.

We spent most of our days strolling Seaside, eating at The Red Bar, shopping, and attempting to relax on the beach.  As it turns out, Sloan isn't fond of the beach. at. all.  She wouldn't even let me put her down on a towel.  Instead, she insisted that I stand with her the whole time, and even then, she was screaming at the top of her lungs.  Maybe next year!  I did, however, manage to put her down for all of about 2 minutes and snapped a few.

I just love her little legs.  She must have her daddy's complexion because she got more of a tan than I did {with sunscreen}!

One thing she does love is wearing her brother's hats.  No bows or headbands for this one!;)

Gray got a very cool, new {vintage} record player.

I felt like we were posing for a magazine cover in this photo:)

We also cooked a lot on this trip.  Of course when I say we, I mean Jamie.  Burgers, steaks, chicken, oh my!

And my diet starts...NOW!

For the Fourth, the girls enjoyed a relaxing day in Seaside with the kids while the guys played golf.

She loves her some rain boots!

We broke the trip up on the way home, which was a lovely way to end a vacation.  We always enjoy staying in a hotel.  Movies, room service, free rides from the bellhop...yes, please!

Great times, great new memories.
It's great to be able to go on vacation, but it's really nice to realize how much you love home.

I got lots of Fall catalogues while we were gone, which makes me ready for Fall now!  No, I'm not rushing summer, but I surely can't wait for what the rest of the year holds.

Have a blessed week!
